A Social Events page has been added to the Hampshire Ramblers website. I would like to invite all Hampshire Groups to subscribe to this page by sending the Webmaster details of any of their social activities (other than walks), that they are happy to share with other groups in the area.

About Us

The Hampshire Area of the Ramblers has over 5,000 members in 15 groups. Each week the groups lead a variety of walks in Hampshire and our neighbouring counties. They will be delighted to welcome you. Many groups organise walks and short breaks to destinations further afield. To contact a group, or to view their web site, please click on the appropriate link from the list on the right, or by clicking on the map below. If a group does not have a website or an online contact, you will be directed to the Local Groups pages on the Ramblers web site.

Hampshire Area Council strongly supports the establishment of age-related groups, such as the 20s30s and 40+ groups, as a means of attracting new members to the Ramblers. Though entitled to join any walk, we encourage members to respect the aims of the group with which they choose to walk and thereby conduct themselves in the best interests of the Ramblers as a whole.

Hampshire has nearly 3,000 miles of public rights of way, byways, bridleways and footpaths. We help maintain them by walking them, reporting faults and carrying out practical work.

The Ramblers exist to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment and discovery that walking outdoors can bring; and to promote respect for the life of the countryside. We encourage walking; protect rights of way; defend the beauty of the countryside; and have campaigned for many years for the freedom to roam over uncultivated, open country.

If you have any comments or suggestions regarding this web site, please contact our Webmaster.
