Annual General Meeting
The key points from the Hampshire Area
Annual General Meeting, held on Saturday 10th February
2007 in Fareham, are as follows:
The meeting was attended by about 55 members,
with Des Coles, a member of the RA Board of Trustees, and Duncan
Shiell, Director of Strategy at Ordnance Survey, Southampton,
as guests.
The annual report was unanimously accepted, as
were the annual accounts. In future, the reports will be circulated
ahead of the AGM.
Chairman George Williams announced that he will
be standing down next year.
Angela Potts, from the Meon group, was elected
Treasurer, and Gordon Parsons, also from Meon, was appointed Auditor.
David Nichols, from the Portsmouth group, was
elected Membership Secretary. All other members were elected en
bloc.
Angela Potts and Clive Frankham agreed to attend
General Council at Reading as Area delegates, with Penny Farncombe
attending in her capacity as Area Coordinator for the GC2008 at
Winchester. Colin Hudman, Brenda Parker and George Williams also
offered to attend as visitors.
Strict deadlines are to be enforced regarding
the timetable for publishing group programmes. Any groups not
meeting the deadlines will have to distribute their programmes
themselves, at extra cost.
Our next AGM will be hosted by the Southampton
group on Saturday 9th February at Nursling and Rownhams Village
Hall.
